Globality and Entangled Security: Rethinking the Post-1945 Order

Abstract In this essay we argue for the utility of moving from a “national” to an “entangled global” perspective on security. Focusing post-1945 international context, discuss how concept “globality” can inform and reframe our understanding transnational security dynamics help move us beyond traditional state-centric frameworks. Such enables better historical events contemporary than classical “national security” frameworks alone. After outlining rationale behind call expanding aperture in study security, theorize entanglement as particularly important form globality with its own internal show framework allows rethink environment within it. We then focus three illustrative forms that have been underexplored studies: global nature Cold War; decolonization legacies; relationship between migration conclude by discussing implications future visions world
